Chou Ninja Tai Inazuma - sentai or not?

I just had the immense pleasure of watching Chou Ninja Tai Inazuma and SPARK.

It's funny, funny stuff - treat yourself, if you haven't yet. Having DekaRed lose his temper with Kaze no Shizuka is something all sentai fans need to see. :)

The question is: do we (sentai fandom, that is) consider Inazuma to be sentai or not? I tend to think of it as being like Marvel Comics' Marvels Comics from the late-1990s - that is, the comics available for sale in the Marvel Universe. Here, it would be the sentai show that the Shinkengers' sit down to watch on Sunday mornings. (Well, it would have been the Boukengers and Gekirangers, but you know what I'm getting at.)

Is there any general consensus on this?

Either way, everyone should really watch it. I almost split my sides many times!

I haven't watched it yet, but I generally get the idea that it's a parody of sentai. It's definitely not part of the toei super sentai series, but it's also definitely some kind of tokusatsu? And English-speaking fans used to call all toku sentai, so yeah.

Actually, I've been avoiding Inazumi because Kaze no Shizuka's 'actress' is in it. :|

It also seems to be a show that even non-toku fans will enjoy - when I showed it during a bad anime night, my friends protested that it was "too good" for a night of cheese and then several asked for copies.
